Regular hours are Wednesday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 1-4 p.m. (Publish April 16, 2008) Sump Pumps 2005 Revised Ordinances of Menno, SD We have two pumps that pump alternately at the sewer lift station. When one pump is done, the other one starts, so pretty much, a pump is running constantly. Everything that is drained into the city sewer systems goes through these pumps into the ponds. We normally discharge our ponds once a year. In 2007, we had to discharge 3 times. The pumps we have are wearing out and new ones need to be ordered; we do not have a spare. They cost $3500 each and there is a 12-week wait to get one. (This is one reason your rates go up.) PLEASE – DO NOT DRAIN YOUR SUMP PUMPS INTO THE CITY SEWER! RUN A HOSE OUTSIDE.
