Mayor
Larry Tolzin called the city council to order at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2=

in the council room at city hall. Council present: Dennis Aisenbrey, Galen

YEARLY BUSINESS: Aisenbrey made a motion to name =

to approve the following to serve on the election board and to pay $75=

No
action was taken on Municipal Government Day in

to the wet year and the probability that people are emptying their sump pu=
mps
into the city sewer system (which is against city ordinance), our lift sta=
tion
pumps are wearing out. We have two pumps that alternately run all the time=
and
we do not have a spare. There is a 12 week wait for a new pump and they co=
st
$3500 each. Aisenbrey made a moti=

to allow the purchase of up to 3 new pumps for the lift station. Huber

Declaring
land surplus by the sale barn was tabled to the February meeting to allow =
time
to determine if the property is part of a lease.

Your Information: The minutes of the December 4 and 18 development meetings and SEFP
reports were included in the council packets.
The council was given
information from Chris Qualm, Public Health Coordinator, South Dakota
Department of Health, stating that Freeman has been identified as a POD (P=
oint
of Dispensing) for both Hutchinson and Turner counties. POD’s are a =
way
to rapidly dispense medications in case of a public health emergency.
