MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL

MENNO, SOUTH DAKOTA

March 17, 2008

The purpose of this meeting was to decide where to place the new warning siren and to approve attendance to a workshop.

Present at this meeting were: Mayor Larry Tolzin, Councilmen Dennis Aisenbrey, Galen Guthmiller, John Huber, Jerome Kotalik, Darrell Mehlhaf, and Finance Officer Peggy Thranum. Gary Herman was absent. Erik Kaufman, David Bender, Jai Walter, Mike Walter, Terry Goehring, Daniel Mehlhaf and Shannon Herrboldt were also present.

Mayor Tolzin called the meeting to order at 6:40 PM.

Kotalik approved the agenda with the deletion of the Child Abuse Workshop. Guthmiller seconded, all present in favor; motion carried.

Following a discussion, Mehlhaf made a motion to install the new warning siren behind the fire hall in a spot designated by the fire chief. Aisenbrey seconded, all present in favor; motion carried.

If people cannot hear this warning siren, the council will look into getting another one.

Huber moved to adjourn at 6:50 p.m. Aisenbrey seconded, all present in favor, motion carried.
