MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
MENNO CITY COUNCIL
July 26, 2010
Answering roll call: Mayor Darrell Mehlhaf, Councilmen: Ronald Diede, Jerry Fischer, Galen Guthmiller, Jerome Hoff, Jerome Kotalik and Scott Simonsen and Finance Officer Peggy Thranum.
Mayor Mehlhaf called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
Guthmiller moved to approve the agenda as presented. Hoff seconded; all ayes.
Hoff moved to support Junior Legion Baseball in the amount of $500. Guthmiller seconded; all ayes.
Fischer moved to allow $4000 to support the summer programs of the Athletic Club, with $1000 of that amount specifically ear marked for a swim program. Diede seconded; all ayes.
Kotalik moved to approve $1500 toward support of the Menno Baseball Association. Hoff seconded; all ayes.
Guthmiller moved to designate $2250 for library books and supplies. Fischer seconded; all ayes.
Hoff moved to allot $500 to the Menno Historical Society Museum. Guthmiller seconded; all ayes.
Simonsen moved to approve $2000 to the school toward gym expenses per our agreement. Diede seconded; all ayes.
Kotalik moved to give all full-time and regular part-time employees a 30 cent per hour raise. Monthly employees will receive a 2% raise increase. Guthmiller seconded; all ayes – no nays.
Hoff moved to accept the addition of Department 431.5 – Storm Drainage – to the General Fund. Fischer seconded; all ayes.
Simonsen moved to adjourn at 8:45 p.m. Kotalik seconded; all ayes.
