Nancy Larsen gave the SEFP report. She stated she has had another inquiry from Menno and we should be having a First Dollar presentation here soon. If you are a business owner and have not received a letter asking you to participate in the Career Fair to be held at the Menno Gym in February, please contact Nancy Larsen, Glenn Kirschenman, Dale Weiss, or Peggy Thranum.

Audrey Fergen is looking for ideas to keep 70-90 kids busy for a one-day serve project the end of June 2006. The kids come from all over the United States and Canada and do projects in communities ranging from painting, landscaping, general clean up, to gutting buildings. Anyone having a project that can be finished in one day should contact Audrey as soon as possible. She needs specific ideas; i.e. painting Mr. Fox’s house or tearing down Mrs. White’s garage. Dale Weiss and Bill Headley will serve as representatives for MADC to meet with Audrey to set down specific ideas for the serve project.

Eric Ambroson from District III spoke to us about Praireland Housing Development (PHD), a non-profit housing development organization. Its purpose is to develop homes in rural communities as “turnkey” projects; making quality, affordable homes available to qualified buyers. There are three available plans; each having a full basement and attached double garage. The homes are available to individuals who meet the requirements for the Governor’s House program. Household income cannot exceed: $34,900 for couples or individuals and $39,900 for families of three or more. For other eligibility requirements, contact Eric in Yankton at (800) 952-3562 or (605) 665-4408.

Our next meeting will be December 20 at the Open Door Café at 12:00 noon.

Dorothy Harnisch made a motion to adjourn at 1:00 p.m. Brent Haberman seconded, all present in favor.

Respectfully submitted,

Peggy Thranum, Secretary
