SEFP REPORT: Larsen stated the number of inquiries for assistance in this year of recession surpassed those from last year. She encouraged area businesses to be part of the Career Fair. It will be held in Centerville on February 17, 2010 from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The workshops this year will focus on community volunteerism and CSI, Career Service Investigation.
Housing – Judy Headley reported the committee reviewed the plans received for apartments and sent them back to be tailored to better suit the needs of our community. Funding is hard to come by at this point because we have no set plans, thus no true cost estimates. Discussion was had on sending out a survey, but no decision was made. The committee’s next meeting will be January 25 at the Care Center.
Business – The Golden West Grant was mailed December 4. We should hear by the end of the year or sometime in January whether we received it or not.
Zeeb thanked us on behalf of the Community Club for the donation toward Appreciation Day expenses.
Our next meeting will be January 19 at 12 noon at the Open Door Café.
Schelske moved to adjourn at 12:45 p.m. Black seconded; motion carried.
Respectfully submitted,
Peggy Thranum, Secretary
