The Menno Area Development Corporation held their regular meeting January20, 2009 at the Open Door Café with the following present: Bill Headley, Wilma Liebl, Darlene Mehlhaf, Jerome Hoff, Larry Tolzin, David Bender, Marsha Schelske, Ken Bertsch, Dale Weiss, Lee Friesen, Bruce Anderson, Connie Knodel, Brent Haberman, Shannon Herrboldt, Arlene Bertsch, Nancy Larsen, Donna Zeeb, Dennis Aisenbrey and Gary Schelske.
President Dale Weiss called the meeting to order at 12:10 p.m.
Jerome Hoff moved to approve the agenda. Wilma Liebl seconded; motion carried.
Larry Tolzin moved to approve the minutes. Ken Bertsch seconded; motion carried.
David Bender moved to approve the finance report. Darlene Mehlhaf seconded; motion carried.
SEFP REPORT: Nancy Larsen reported the Regional Career Fair will be held in Parker on February 10, 2009. She attended Capacity Building opportunity for SD Nonprofits Organization
USD is conduction a survey of non- profits to produce a list of SD non-profits and grants available to qualifying entities.
Christmas Lights Contest: Dale said he has heard good comments about the Christmas Lights Extravaganza. First place winner was to Kent Lehr and second place winner was Kristi Diede.
Welcome Wagon: No report.
Business: Dale said the grocery store is doing well and looking for an assistant manger. New check outs have been installed as have all the new coolers.
Our next meeting will be February 17 at the Open Door Café at 12:00 noon.
David Bender moved to adjoin at 12.25 p.m. Brent Haberman seconded; motion carried.
