Menno Area Development Corporation

The Menno Area Development Corporation met for its annual meeting June 16, 2009 in the meeting room at city hall with the following present: Peg Thranum, David Bender, Nancy Larsen, Lee Friesen, Darlene Mehlhaf, Bill Headley, Shannon Herrboldt, Dale Weiss, Arlene Bertsch, Tammy Liebl and Judy Headley.

With a quorum present, President Dale Weiss called the meeting to order at 7 p.m.

Shannon Herrboldt moved, Lee Friesen seconded, to approve the agenda; motion carried.

David Bender moved, Shannon Herrboldt seconded, to approve the minutes; motion carried

David Bender moved, Darlene Mehlhaf seconded, to approve the finance report; motion carried.

David Bender moved, Judy Headley seconded, to approve the annual report; motion carried.

The annual report for the Menno Clinic was presented for your information.

SEFP REPORT: Nancy Larsen reported she will be unable to assist entrepreneurs living in rural areas of Hutchinson County as the county commissioners decided not to pay dues to SEFP.

Committee Reports: Housing – No report. Judy Headley will report at the next meeting. Placing an article on the web page about needing someone to develop housing in Menno was discussed.

Business: Lee Friesen nominated Shannon Herrboldt for a three-year term on the MADC board. Bill Headley seconded. No vote was taken.

President Weiss recessed the meeting at 7:40 p.m. due to a severe storm.

Our next meeting will be July 21 at the Open Door Café at 12:00 noon.
