Menno Area Development Corporation

The Menno Area Development Corporation met for its regular meeting September 21, 2010 at the Open Door Café with the following present: Peg Thranum, Bill Headley, Bruce Anderson, Darlene Mehlhaf, David Bender, Teresa Anderson, Glenn Kirschenman, Marsha Schelske, Nancy Larsen, Shawn Black, Ken Bertsch, Donna Zeeb and Dale Weiss.
President Dale Weiss called the meeting to order at 12:15 p.m.
Bender moved, Schelske seconded, to approve the minutes of the August 17 meeting, motion carried.
Bertsch moved to approve the finance report as presented, Bender seconded; motion carried.
SEFP REPORT: We will look into scheduling a workshop this coming January for Energizing Entrepreneurs.
Housing – A meeting was held with Rita Edwards from Housing Development. They discussed housing development and goal setting.
Business – Bender moved to surplus anything worth value (furnace/air conditioner, sump pump, windows, etc.) at the 112 S High Street property and advertise for sealed bids. Details will be decided by the board. Schelske seconded; motion carried.
The board will advertise for demolition and clean up of the house at 112 S High Street.
The board will determine the amount checks may be written for before there is a need for two signatures.
Teresa Anderson moved to offer the pine tree at 112 S High Street to the Power Show providing they remove it and clean up after the removal. Bender seconded; motion carried.
A decision on allowing outside vendors to attend the car show was tabled to the October meeting.
Our next meeting will be October 19 at 12 noon at the Open Door Café.
Bruce Anderson moved for adjournment at 1:00 p.m. Headley seconded; motion carried.
