Menno Area Development Corporation

The Menno Area Development Corporation met for its regular meeting January 18, 2011 at the Open Door Café with the following present: Peg Thranum, Bill Headley, Arlene Bertsch, Judy Headley, David Bender, Morna Anderson, Darlene Mehlhaf, Bruce Anderson, Shannon Herrboldt, Brent Haberman, Marsha Schelske and Ken Bertsch.

 

Bruce Anderson and Bill Headley showed us the sign Mrs. Stoebner and the Seventh Grade Class had made and presented to the Veterans. They did a superior job! It will be placed on the wooden fence of our property on Fifth Street as soon as weather permits.

 

President Brent Haberman called the meeting to order at 12:20 p.m.

 

Schelske moved, Judy Headley seconded, to approve the minutes of the December 21 meeting; all ayes.

 

Bender moved to approve the finance report as presented, Schelske seconded; all ayes.

 

SEFP REPORT: Larsen had a 1st Dollar of Profit presentation for “Expressions by Patricia”, Patricia Dannenbring, owner. An Energizing Entrepreneurs Workshop is scheduled for January 24. This workshop is for everyone – not just entrepreneurs.

 

Housing – Judy will look into changing the housing meeting to January 31 at 7 p.m. because of the conflict with the Energizing Entrepreneurs Workshop January 24. 

 

Business – Judy Headley moved that Peg should move forward with having the community guides updated and check to see if they also do brochures. Bender seconded; all ayes.

 

Our next meeting will be February 15 at 12 noon at the Open Door Café.

 

Schelske moved for adjournment at 1 p.m. Herrboldt seconded; motion carried.
