In 1974, she earned a BA from Black Hills State University. In 1982, received MBA (Masters in Business Administration) from the University of South Dakota. In 1991, also received MPA (Masters in Professional Accountancy) from the University of South Dakota.

    In 1992, she came to Menno and began working in the Ulmer-Hertz-Bertsch Law Office (which later became the Bertsch Law Office). Finally in 1996, she opened her own accounting practice where she currently resides.

She is a member of AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants). She is also a member of the South Dakota CPA Society.
