Oktoberfest
October 24, 2009
Authentic German Meal and German Entertainment.

Starting at 7:00 pm
In the Menno City-School Auditorium

Entertainment provided by:
Clyde Bauman from Bismarck, ND
This unique entertainer plays the role of ‘Mylo Hatzenhuhler,’ a fictional farm boy and music superstar who lives on a fictional farm near Strasburg, ND, with his fictional wife and family.  When Elvis Presley died he set out to fill that void to become the ‘king’ of music.  Mylo has traveled to every town that would have him, winning fans wherever he went.  Most recently he entertained the Germans from Russia convention attendees in Rapid City, to their great delight!

When Mylo takes the stage, you can expect to hear him tell stories about life on the farm and on the road. He fracture words and phrases, pokes fun at himself and everything else and sing his best songs, including folk tunes, hymns, gospel and patriotic.    Listen carefully though, for what sounds like ‘In the Mood’ is really a song about the hen house called ‘In the Coop.’  What sounds like ‘Send in the Clowns’ is really a milking song entitled ‘Send in the Cows.’  Anything that could possibly happen on stage, really does.  Don’t miss a single minute of the German comedy and music.

To add to the comedy and songs, there will be the usual huge German buffet served between Mylo’s first and second half act of the show.  According to the great German cooks on the committee, the menu consists of German bratwurst (sausage), Liverwurst, assorted cold meat trays, apfel mousse (baked apples), German kartoffel salat (German potato salad), cheeses and crackers, small buns, pickled cucumbers and watermelon, lebkuchen-baked with a recipe from the Black Forest region of Germany, peffernusse, plachinda (a typical German Russian pumpkin pie like bar), kuchen in every flavor imaginable, and assorted bars galore.  The evening will conclude with a drawing of prizes, both valuable and funny.

Tickets: $15.00 Advance tickets available. Tickets are LIMITED, advanced purchase suggested.
