Memorial Day program in Menno Monday morning

The 2026 program has been moved to the city-school auditorium.

The Menno community and surrounding area is invited to observe Memorial Day Monday, May 25 at the Menno Cemetery. The service is hosted by the Rames-Bender Post 152 of the American Legion and will begin at 10:30 a.m. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be moved to the high school auditorium. Weather permitting, the observance will begin with an airplane fly over followed by opening remarks by Bob Rennolet, Post 152 commander. Music will be provided by Tom Ulmer and Dale Weiss, as well as the Menno High School band. There will be a Memorial Day Address and there will also be a reading of the Honor Roll of Honored Dead. Other elements will include the laying of the wreath by the American Legion Auxiliary, a salute to the Honored Dead, and the playing of Taps. Those attending are encouraged to bring chairs and veterans are asked to sit in a formation so they may be honored. The Menno High School band will sponsor a luncheon in the city-school auditorium after the service.
